Classic style combined with modernity

Ancestral traditions combined with technological innovations maintain the authenticity and excellence of the wines of the respected maison

Founded in 1849, Doudet-Naudin is based in Savigny-lès-Beaune, three kilometers from Beaune, the capital of Burgundy. One of the oldest in the famous region, the winery produces 15 different appellations, including treasures such as Corton Charlemagne Grand Cru, Corton Maréchaudes Grand Cru and the monopoly Savigny 1er Cru en Redrescul.

To preserve authenticity and excellence, the core values of this respected maison, its current CEO, Christophe Rochet, owner since 2014, is committed to restructuring it. But always combining ancestral traditions with technological innovations that guarantee even greater quality and efficiency in production processes.

“If you want to build and master your future, you first need to know and respect your past,” says Rochet. The recipe has been successful, as the brand’s wines, with classic styles of absolute quality, have won more than 50 medals in the last 24 months.

The Doudet-Naudin farm covers an area of over 13 hectares and has vines that are, on average, very old, up to 70 years old. As a result, some plots are still worked by hand and tilled with the help of horses.

The choice of traditional winemaking methods and environmentally friendly pest control takes into account the ecosystem and the harvest and, above all, seeks to reveal and highlight the terroir of origin of the grape. In the buildings located in the city center, there are ancient wine cellars, up to 200 years old. This is where the wines age for several months in oak barrels, according to Burgundian tradition, which allows the specific notes of each climate to be established and distilled.

Burgundy

France

Although smaller and producing less wine than Bordeaux, Burgundy is more complex. Each village (and sometimes each vineyard!) has its own individual appellation, vineyards can have multiple owners, and winemaking takes place far from the vineyards, in the city. The region is famous for its elegant Chardonnay-based whites and refined Pinot Noir-based reds.
