Campos Reales winery presents us with this distinctly refreshing dry white made from Sauvignon Blanc and Airén.

Grown in the La Mancha region, this is a great expression of Spanish white wine.

This wine is made up of 50% Airén and 50% Sauvignon Blanc.

Airén, the most widely planted white grape variety in the world, is highly resistant to hot climates. In the arid climate of the La Mancha region, the varietal finds favorable conditions to develop its citrus and extremely fresh character.

Sauvignon Blanc, in turn, contributes vegetal notes and hints of tropical fruits to this wonderful Spanish blend.

Visual: Pale lime green color.

Smell: On the nose, its youth and freshness stand out with clean and pronounced aromas of citrus fruits, white stone fruits, tropical fruits and white flowers.

Palate: In the mouth it is fresh, fruity, light and balanced. An elegant, soft, round wine in the mouth and at the same time with a very striking personality.

Harmonization: Enjoy it with salads, snacks, creamy cheeses, fish, seafood, vegetables and rice dishes.

The best winery in Spain

Commitment to history, magic, passion and sustainability is a strong point of the cooperative, which has almost all of its wines with vegan certification

Produced in a region with a long winemaking tradition, the wines of Bodegas Campos Reales occupy a prominent place among Spanish brands, having won several national and international awards. Voted the best winery in Spain by Verema, the largest online wine and gastronomy community in the country, it is located in the municipality of El Provencio, in the province of Cuenca, an autonomous community of Castilla-La Mancha. It specializes in the Tempranillo grape variety, which is best expressed by the continental Mediterranean climate and the limestone soils with a clay base.

Campos Reales’ beginnings date back to 1950, when dozens of small farmers founded the cooperative. Today, there are more than 400 families who, in order to achieve the highest quality of their products, combine modern techniques and technologies with respect for customs and nature. Some of the vineyards are over 70 years old and have been passed down from father to son. The preservation of the culture also includes the importance of native grape varieties, old-fashioned pruning, manual harvesting and aging the wine in oak barrels.

Located at the highest altitudes of the La Mancha plain, the winery's 4,000 hectares of land have ideal conditions for producing a wide variety of grapes. Very cold winters and very hot summers allow the acidity and sugar content of the fruit to be balanced to obtain a final product of excellent quality. The cool summer nights of August and September, in turn, contrast with the heat of the day during the ripening period.

Commitment to sustainability and ethics is another strong point of Campos Reales. The cooperative has solar panels installed in its warehouses and its own waste treatment plant. It also cultivates organic vineyards and almost all of its wines are vegan, with the V-Label seal. It also has food safety and quality certifications for its winemaking and bottling processes granted by the BRC (British Retail Consortium) and the IFS (International Food Standard), both recognized by the GFSI (Global Food Safety Initiative).

“Oenology is the ability to bring history, magic and passion into a bottle,” says the technical director of Bodegas Campos Reales, winemaker Soledad López. Initially trained in Biological Sciences, she ended up entering and falling in love with the world of winemaking in 2002, when she started as a laboratory assistant at the cooperative during that year’s harvest.

Castile La Mancha

Spain

Castilla La Mancha is one of the main wine-producing regions in Spain, and the largest wine-growing area in the world. As it receives little rainfall, the vines are planted far apart from each other, up to 8 meters apart, so that they can ensure that the soil is moist. This wonderful land with a Mediterranean climate, with various features ranging from semi-arid to humid, is where the greatest character in the Spanish language comes from, Don Quixote, written by Miguel de Cervantes.
