Portugal, the land of Port wines, also produces remarkable dry wines from 200 native grape varieties. The coastal region of Setúbal is located about 50km from Lisbon and along the Tagus estuary, with a terroir that varies from sandy coastal plains to the limestone-rich hills of the Serra da Arrábida. In viticulture, the Moscatel and Castelão varieties predominate.

Adega Camolas Castro de Chibanes 2018
An elegant and full-bodied Portuguese wine, produced in a rich archaeological site in the Arrábida Natural Park, in the Setúbal Peninsula region.
This wine features a drawing of the Castro de Chibanes , a fortification from the Roman and pre-Roman era, located very close to the Camolas winery. The idea behind this example is to share and promote the rich archaeological heritage of the Setúbal Peninsula. This blend is composed of three typical Portuguese grape varieties: 50% Castelão, 25% Trincadeira and 25% Alicante Bouschet. The predominant Castelão finds ideal conditions in the Setúbal Peninsula for its best expression in Portugal. Trincadeira and Alicante Bouschet, on the other hand, balance the blend and bring harmony to all the elements.
Visual: Intense garnet color.
Smell: A complex bouquet where wild fruits, jam and spices are well integrated with the toasted notes of the wood.
Palate: In the mouth it has a soft flavor, with good structure and velvety tannins, a balanced and lively acidity, confirming the aromas. It has volume and body in an elegant and attractive combination with soft tannins. Long and persistent finish, where notes of dark chocolate stand out.
Harmonization: Hard cheeses (Emmental, Gruyère, Grana Padano), poultry, beef, pasta with red sauce, feijoada. And how about combining it with the famous Portuguese cod?
