Vinho Verde can come in many forms, but this is one of the best. Composed of 50% Arinto, 35% Azal, 15% Trajadura, all native Portuguese grape varieties. Just sit back and enjoy a great tasting wine that represents fantastic value for money!

Visual: Citrine color with greenish reflections.

Smell: Aroma of citrus fruits and light hints of stone fruits, such as green apple and lemon.

Palate: Very fresh, with balanced acidity and a mineral base.

Harmonization: It is an excellent wine to accompany salads, a seafood meal, fish or light dishes.

Ancestral passion in the soul of Vinho Verde

The use of native grape varieties results in elegant, fresh, balanced products with their own identity

In Portugal, there are 14 regions with DOC (Controlled Designation of Origin) certification, with Vinho Verde being the largest, extending throughout the northwest of the country. Demarcated in 1908, it is also one of the oldest in Europe, with historical references dating back to the Roman Empire. In this context, the Quinta da Raza vineyards are developed in the Basto sub-region.

The winery began in the mid-18th century and is still in the hands of the Teixeira Coelho family, now in the hands of Diogo Teixeira Coelho, the fifth generation, and his wife, Mafalda. Their love and dedication to winemaking have fostered this passion and knowledge over time, resulting in the production of elegant, fresh, balanced wines with their own identity.

Quinta da Raza’s privileged location, in the interior of the Minho region, at an altitude of 250 metres, offers a microclimate influenced by the River Tâmega and the Serra do Marão, which intercepts the Atlantic sea winds. With magnificent sun exposure, granite-based soils and clay-schist areas that are uncommon in the Vinho Verde region, the unique terroir highlights the quality of the native grape varieties, such as Azal, Arinto, Avesso, Padeiro, Trajadura, Vinhão and Alvarinho.

Another striking feature of the winery is the fact that tradition and innovation go hand in hand. Techniques such as hand harvesting, treading red grapes in centuries-old granite stone presses and the generational knowledge in the production of these distinctive wines are preserved and aided by modern technology.

Quinta da Raza also innovates by working in harmony with the environment. The company's sustainable actions include efficient water and energy management (including the use of solar panels), organic pest control and a reduced carbon footprint by using tractors that emit less CO2 and have filters.

Green Wine

Portugal

Officialized in 1908, this is one of the largest demarcated regions in Europe.
Control and certification are carried out by the Viticulture Commission of the Vinhos Verdes Region (CVRVV), which has added a guarantee seal to all labels since 1959.
History tells us that Vinho Verde may have been the first Portuguese wines to be exported to the European market. Between the 16th and 17th centuries, shipments of wines from this region were often destined for northern Europe.
