Organoleptic Characteristics and Harmonization
One of Greece's most iconic Cabernets! In addition to winning many awards, Mega Spileo is a wine made with the care of an artisan who creates his own showcase piece. Its grapes come from the Achaia region, more specifically from the historic "domaine" that gives it its name, where renowned wines were already being produced five centuries ago. It is made through manual harvesting, malolactic fermentation in new oak barrels where it ages for a minimum period of 24 months, bottling without filtration or clarification and subsequent maturation in cellars for another two years. The result is a wine with great longevity, which enchants with its richness of aromatic and flavor nuances. Notes of dried plum, coffee, eucalyptus bark, dark chocolate and a touch of smoke are the highlights of the olfactory analysis. In the mouth, it is full of typicality, with great acidity and well-defined tannins. Black cherry, pepper and cocoa shape a gastronomic ensemble, which also brings an intense finish. Among the many awards, we highlight Robert Parker's 91 points and the gold medal at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles. Don't miss out on this gem! The wine is ready to drink, but can still be enjoyed at its peak until the end of 2024.
