Organoleptic Characteristics and Harmonization
Jeremic Winery is a family business that has grown over the years to become a cutting-edge winery that uses traditional methods alongside modern techniques. It is located in Smederevo – Jugovo, near the capital Belgrade. In Jugovo, the grapes ripen earlier and can have one to two percent more sugar than in other regions. The climate is cool due to the constant breeze, in winter the grapes do not freeze and in summer there is double light coming directly from the sun that reflects off the Danube River. For those who love tasting different and unusual wines, this example is perfect, as it brings unique characteristics of the Jugovo Terroir. It is a blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon harvested earlier, aged for 10 months in oak barrels, part Serbian and part French. When served, it reflects an intense ruby color and great clarity. On the nose, the attack is of very ripe raspberries and strawberries, a delight. Soon, spices such as ground white pepper and vanilla appear. In the mouth, it is attractive, full-bodied, smooth and with present but elegant tannins. It has a good structure, and also brings floral nuances and a subtle note of ripe red pepper. It is very pleasant, the whole is well balanced with just the right amount of acidity, a true gentleman! It ends in a long and tasty finish. Pairing: It is a great ally for meats, try it with roast beef ribs, grilled filet mignon and even chops with barbecue sauce. More exotic meats such as lamb and wild boar are also great options, especially when accompanied by grilled vegetables and mushrooms. Enjoy at 17°C in large, smooth, crystal-clear glasses. We recommend prior aeration in a decanter for 30 minutes. The wine is ready to drink now, but can be consumed at its peak until the end of 2025.
