Organoleptic Characteristics and Harmonization
The Kessler Zink winery, located in Rheinhessen, the largest German wine region, has a 30-year tradition and has been the focus of the family for three generations. The founder was Ingo Stutz, a wine enthusiast who always thought “outside the box”. It is no wonder that in a short time, the winery has become a modern and innovative company, with the aim of producing quality wines to serve not only the domestic market, but also the global market. The white wine in question is a varietal of Gewurztraminer, a grape variety widely used in Germany that means “spicy grape from Tramin”, a German-speaking city in northern Italy. As its name suggests, it is a wine with a more spicy and fragrant profile. When served, it has a beautiful golden color, clear and bright, as well as a delicious aroma of flowers and fruits. You can detect notes of rose petals and fruits such as lychee and apricot. On the palate, it is silky, with a pleasant sweetness, but with adequate acidity, which prevents it from becoming cloying. It is dense, striking, and offers flowers and tropical fruits such as mango and passion fruit, in addition to the same fruits already perceived on the nose. It has a tasty and persistent finish with a spicy touch of ginger. Pairing: The best way to enjoy a wine like this is with well-prepared canapés, blue cheeses and spicy and aromatic dishes such as those from Thai cuisine. Also try it with chicken curry, pastas with intense sauces, and unctuous fish. Serve at 10°C in smooth, crystal-clear glasses. The wine is ready to drink, but can be enjoyed at its peak until the end of 2024.
