Pleasant, refreshing, floral and fruity. An explosion of aromas and flavors!

The Verdejo grape variety steals the show in Rueda, Spain. The region offers ideal conditions for growing this grape. High temperatures favor ripening and aromatic and flavor intensity, and cool nights preserve acidity.

Visual: Bright straw yellow with greenish reflections.

Smell: Very elegant and frank, the aromas of white fruit (pear), with notes of fennel and anise in the background, which give it the minerality of the soils where it is produced.

Palate: Balanced, tasty, with volume, appreciating the fresh fruits that we observe on the nose. It has great persistence and finish in the mouth, due to the natural acidity of the Verdejo grape.

Harmonization: Enjoy it as an appetizer or with salads, fresh cheeses (ricotta), cheese fries, seafood, grilled fish, pork and pasta!

Simple life and modern technologies

Appreciation for the countryside and modern winemaking techniques result in high-quality Verdejo and Tempranillo wines that stand out along the Douro River

Known worldwide for the quality of its Verdejo and Tempranillo wines, the Torrederos winery is one of the leading representatives of the Rueda and Ribera del Duero designations of origin, important Spanish wine-producing regions along the course of the Duero River (Douro in Portugal), in the autonomous community of Castilla y León.

Established in 1999 by Serafin and Jose Mari, Torrederos currently has over 100 hectares of vineyards in Fuentelisendo, Burgos province. The family-owned company, with a deep winemaking tradition, today combines the simplicity of country life with modern technologies in its winemaking process.

The fact that the winery is located within a maximum radius of five kilometers of its agricultural area facilitates continuous monitoring and guarantees maximum quality of the wines and production volume. To achieve the high-quality final product, care begins with the grapes, which also requires love and effort dedicated to the land and the vineyards.

The origin of the Verdejo grape is still a source of doubt. Some say it is native to North Africa and was brought to Europe in the 11th century. Others believe it is a Spanish variety from Rueda, where it is the most widely cultivated grape, producing aromatic, smooth and full-bodied white wines.

An important curiosity is that, in this region, all white wines must contain at least 50% of the grape variety in their composition. Those labeled Verdejo on the label are composed of at least 85%. Verdejo wine from the Torrederos winery, however, is produced 100% with the variety.

Tempranillo, one of the best-known grapes of the Iberian Peninsula, is the main variety used in the red wines of Ribera del Duero. It takes its name from the Spanish word temprano, which means early, and its greatest advantage is that it ripens quickly.

Wheel

Spain

Rueda is located in the middle of Spain, south of Ribeira Del Duero and on the opposite side of the Duero River, in the Castilla y León region. The sandy and clayey soil and the marked change in the seasons, with harsh winters and sunny, dry summers, favor the slow ripening of white grapes. Although Verdejo steals the show, the Tempranillo and Garnacha varieties deserve special mention.
