Organoleptic Characteristics and Harmonization
The Vía Verde vineyards are located in one of Bulgaria's most promising regions, the Struma River Valley, located in the extreme southwest of the country. The climate is Mediterranean and has a huge number of hours of sunshine per year. There, taking advantage of the privileged nature, the dragonfly, an insect that lives only in ecologically clean places, shares its habitat with incredibly vigorous and healthy vines. Motif, which according to the winery is "the best grapes transformed into a true delight for the senses", is a product from the premium line. Produced with diligence, that is: harvesting and manual selection of the best grapes, coming from the highest vineyards and with a yield of a measly 500 kg per hectare (wow!). It was fermented in stainless steel tanks and then matured for 9 months in Bulgarian oak barrels. The result is an impeccable wine. The aroma is complex and harmonious, opening with milky notes of milk chocolate and vanilla, but ripe red fruits, typical Chilean plums, burnt sugar and a floral touch soon emerge, all interspersed with a layer of toast. In the mouth, the acidity is high, pure salivation. The body ranges from medium to full-bodied, the tannins are mature and it has the velvety structure characteristic of Merlot. An educational wine, which should be tasted slowly, enjoying all the "moments" it can provide. To make the experience even more pleasurable, try our pairing suggestions: oven-roasted duck, beef bourguignon, grilled meats, spaghetti with ossobuco ragu or pork leg in sweet and sour sauce. The wine is ready to drink, but can still be enjoyed at its peak until the end of 2024.
